Sometimes I'm asked why I make so different things (paper crafts, prismacolor, digital colour, watercolours, linearts etc.) and do not concentrate on one in particular and excel in that.
The answer is: I just can't. ^^¡ I love to do all that when time permits. Sometimes I'm in the mood to make watercolours or prismacolors, and some other days I prefer to think on gouache or have something digitally coloured. Papercrafts are also always in the queue.
I love to do all that and to experiment the different mediums not because it's easy, but because it's difficult for me. I was never trained or raised in an artistic environment, and thus using pens, brushes and all that is a completely unknown world for me.
But however difficult those things are for me, I really love to taste them all because I learn a lot in every piece, every process teaches me something new, and because it always tests my own skills. Even if I'm not an "artist" or master a given technique (and my deviations will always lack something in a way), at the end all those pieces relax me and offer me a time and a place far from the stress of normal life.
The last couple of days I embarked on another unusual project: a moogle plushie. It is finished and waiting for her Lulu to take him home. You can see it here: http://rubenandres77.deviantart.com/art/Moogle-plushie-141342260
I think that's all for today. Take care!
